THE FIRST INFORMED CITIES FORUM 2010 A HUGE SUCCESS!

Over 110 participants from 24 countries took part in the first Informed Cities Forum in Newcastle upon Tyne, a key European event linking research and local policy-making for sustainable development, hosted by Northumbria University.

The Forum gathered European local governments and leading European researchers in the field of urban sustainability management and has been an important first step in bridging the gap between research and policy-making. Offering a platform for a mutual transfer of knowledge, the Forum paved the way for translating the wide range of existing European research tools into practice.

We would like to thank all the participants for their contributions, energy and dedication and we are looking forward to exploring further the ideas that emerged from the discussions.
